The village of Green Tree is located about 10 km south-southwest from the center of the regional town of Gabrovo and about 1.3 km south-east from the Hristo Smirnenski dam, built on the Panicharka River - a left tributary of the Yantra River. The village is located in the northern foothills of the Shipchen mountain, along the northwestern valley slope of the Belil river, a tributary of the Goat river, which flows into the Panicharka river. The altitude in the northwestern part of the village reaches about 770 m and decreases to about 680 m in the southeastern part.
The third-class republican road III-5006 (Gabrovo - Uzana resort complex) passes through the village of Zeleno Dro.
The name comes from a huge fir tree that was located at the lower end of the village, it took 4 people to go around it holding hands. No one can tell her age. During the war, Russian soldiers hid in the village and found their way around it. In the 1940s, the fir split and half collapsed.
In 1978, the former settlement of Zeleno dreko huts received the status of a village.
The village of Green Tree is located entirely within the boundaries of the Natural Park "Bulgarka". Because of its beautiful nature, the tranquility it offers and the proximity to the area, Uzana is a frequent destination for tourists from all over Bulgaria.
On September 17, 2013, the Orthodox chapel "St. Martyrs Sophia, Faith, Hope and Love", built in just one year, entirely with funds from donors. On May 15, 2014, Metropolitan Grigory of Veliko Tarnovo consecrated and gave his blessing for the Orthodox church in the village of Zeleno Dro. The solemn liturgy was respected by the villagers, donors and many guests.
