Voneshta Voda village

Stinking Voda is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, district of Veliko Tarnovo. The name of the village originates from the mineral water in it, which has a strong smell of hydrogen sulphide. Stinking Water is a famous balneological resort.

The village of Voneshta Voda is located in a mountainous area. Located in the northern foothills of the Central Stara Planina, about 28 km south of Veliko Tarnovo and 17 km east of Tryavna, along the main road from Veliko Tarnovo to Nova Zagora through the Pass of the Republic (Hainboaz). The altitude of the village is over 351 m, and that of the resort village is 500 m. The climate is temperate-continental without sharp temperature differences.

Attractions and infrastructure

In the center of the village there is a monument to the famous voivode from the national liberation movement Philip Totyu. Philippe Toteau's birthplace is a museum.

Mineral water and balneology

Stinking water is known for the mineral spring at the beginning of the village and the opportunities for balneotherapy and relaxation. Mineral water is a resource used for the development of spa and climate tourism. It springs with a temperature of 13 °C, and in local hotel complexes and pools it is heated up to 40 °C. It is used for treatment by drinking and balneotherapy.

diseases of the female reproductive system - endometritis, dysmenorrhea, sterility, etc.

Sanatorium SBRFRM "Dimina" and several hotel complexes with mineral water function in the village.

It has a chemical composition as close as possible to that of the waters in world-famous spas in the Swiss Alps and France, but surpasses them in terms of healing properties.
